Person Centred Active Support Training

On Wednesday June 22 we held our first Person Centred Active Support training session.

On Wednesday June 22 we held our first Person Centred Active Support training session for 2022 at the Para Hills Community Hub.

The training provides our staff with the tools to better support clients by engaging them to participate in purposeful and meaningful every day activities at home and in the community.

This is the first step in our plan of having Active Support Leads in each of our houses. From this training, we will be able to recognise those who excel and identify them as a potential candidate for our new Active Support Lead roles.

Over the coming month we will be holding another three sessions to ensure everyone is up to date with the most current person centred active support practices. All our Community Support Worker staff must complete this training.

All 43 attendees at the first session stated the training either met or exceeded their needs, with one person saying "The training was very informative and helpful for me to make a difference to the lives of people that I am supporting."

— Gill, Parent of a Client

Nick, Staff Member

“Lighthouse Disability staff are all amazingly dedicated and our family appreciate all that the team do.”
